SlipStream Configuration



The Slipstream Dial-Up Accelerator Client is a breakthrough in web technology that uses a proprietary compression on text, html, xml, javascript and style sheets. Proprietary image compression is applied to gif images, jpeg images and Flash content.
SlipStream also accelerates email traffic (POP3 and SMTP) using a lossless compression.
It is a fast, light download (969 KB) and it is also easy to install. For Installation Help / Instructions, please choose "Setup Instructions" from the menu to the left. Other Features:


Built In Popup Blocker

  • Block Floating Flash Ads
  • WhiteList for Unblocking Popups on sites you trust
  • Log showing the popup information: Popup Name and the URL it came from


User Settings

  • Adjust Image Quality
  • Login Information w/ password save feature


Advanced Connection Features

  • Allows you to specify a Server Host, Port, and Local Listening Port
  • Enable / Disable E-Mail Compression (off by default)
  • AutoUpdate feature - Slipstream will tell you when a new version is available
  • Proxy Exclusion - Allows you to specify sites that Slipstream will not accelerate

  • Shows Totals for Original Data Size, Actual Data Size, and Savings Ratio

  • Text Acceleration (text, html, xml, javascript, css)
  • Graphics Acceleration (.gif, .jpg and Macromedia Flash Files)
  • Your Upstream (data going out)


Supported Operating Systems

  • All Windows Desktop Systems - 95, 98, Millenium, NT, 2000, XP
  • This Client is not currently compatible with Mac or Linux


First you must download the SlipStream Dialup Accelerator. When prompted select Run.


This is the first screen you will see when running the setup program. Click Next.


Read through the license agreement. You must agree and abide by the license agreement to use this product. After you check the box to agree to the license agreement, click Next.


Choose a destination to install the Slipstream Client. We recommend that you use the default path provided. Click Next.


This is just an image of what it will look like while the Slipstream Client is installing. It should only take a few seconds, depending on how fast your PC is.


This is the final screen for the install, Click Finish.


Enter your Username and Password in the box and click Ok.
